A huge dome...

Skyscrapers so high you just get a glimpse of sky from the dark, dank street level.

These towers are occupied by the genetically modified 'Elite'. ​

Rain...
Back streets...

Ido.

"Ido, Ido, wake up!" Fray, Ido's brother shouts. They have been found by The Elite's secret police. They flee, with the police in hot pursuit.

Chapter 2 - Source Code

Ido learns that his Mother has been killed and his Father, Oto (an eminent scientist) taken prisoner by The Psychophage (the leader of The Elite and devourer of souls/minds)

His Father is being held captive and being used in a matrix of minds to rule New Tokyo.

Kept in a Great Hypnagogic State by a hallucinogenic drug called Genkaku delivered by tube into the brain via the temple.
